Patrik was born in a small town called Lyckeby in the south of Sweden in 1974. He received his first piano lessons from his Father when he was 5 and gave his first public performance one year later.
At the age of 8 Patrik performed in the Stockholm Konserthuset (Concert Hall) and at an outdoor arena in Stockholm in the following year. He first traveled abroad to play when he was ten. This was to perform at the Pori jazz festival in Finland.
Patrik also plays tennis and for a couple of years, played for the professional ‘Team Mats Wilander’. During this time he also performed with a number of orchestras in Sweden, including the Malmo Symphony and the Gavle Symphony.
When Patrik was 17 he was given the opportunity to move to London and study at the Royal College of Music with the late Irina Zaritskaya. It was at this stage that it became obvious that he would devote his future to the piano. 'I could have had no better mentor than Irina Zaritskaya, a great pianist and teacher and a lovely person'.
Since graduating Patrik has performed with the orchestras of many cities across the world, including that of Warsaw, and the Royal Stockholm Philharmonic, with whom he played the Prokofiev 1st Piano Concerto and the Variations on a theme of Paganini by Witold Lutoslawski.
Another highlight was playing at the Warsaw Autumn New Music Festival. Patrik very much enjoys the opportunity of getting to know and perform more modern music by composers such as Messiaen, Poul Ruders and Wojciech Kilar.
Patrik often performs with his brother Peter Jablonski and greatly enjoys exploring the two piano repertoire with him. They have played all over the world.
Patrik Jablonski is also the Artistic Director of the Malar International Music Festival
